Zero-tolerance of fraud, corruption and unethical behaviour!

As part of our 2022 strategy, we are committed to the intolerance of the compromise of quality, safety and internal controls. In keeping with this, the Tiger forensic team has given us some feedback regarding some criminal prosecutions that have taken place during the last six months…

Tiger Brands has a zero-tolerance policy towards fraud, corruption and unethical behaviour,
which is why we introduced our whistleblowing hotline – 0800 80 80 80. (If you want to read more about it: CLICK HERE) This platform was created for employees, consumers, customers and suppliers to report unethical business practices confidentially, without fear of prejudice or victimisation.

THREE CASES RELATED TO THE THEFT OF BENNY STOCK AT OUR DAVITA MANUFACTURING SITE.

In the second case, the magistrate sentenced the accused to five months’ imprisonment or a fine of R5 000. Half of the sentence was suspended for five years, again on condition that a similar offence is not committed during this period.

Additionally, investigations into ethics line reports also resulted in the following dismissals:

Three employees for gross dishonesty. These employees are also being criminally prosecuted; and

One employee for sexual harassment and gross misconduct.

No one should turn a blind eye to unethical behaviour or corruption! Together, we can make this organisation a great place to work.
